Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental – Authorities from the Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office successfully carried out a buy-bust operation in Gingoog City, resulting in the arrest of a suspected drug dealer and the confiscation of illegal substances.

The operation was led by PLTCOL Dennis G. Delos Santos and executed by personnel from the Gingoog City Police Station as part of the province’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs to ensure peace and order in the community.

The buy-bust operation took place at Purok-4, Barangay 24, Gingoog City. Police identified the suspect as a 24-year-old male, jobless, and a resident of Purok-3, Barangay 24. He was apprehended after selling illegal drugs to an undercover operative.

Authorities seized the following items during the operation:

  • One (1) sachet of shabu (buy-bust item)
  • Two (2) big square sachets of suspected shabu (possession items)
  • One (1) Php 500.00 bill used as buy-bust money
  • One (1) empty red and white cigarette pack with markings “DELTA”

PCOL Wilbur M. Salaguste, Provincial Director of the Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office, commended the officers for their swift and effective response. “This successful buy-bust operation is a testament to our unwavering commitment to eradicating illegal drugs in our province. We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of our community,” he stated.

The suspect is currently in the custody of the Gingoog City Police Station and will be facing charges for violating Article II, Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
