GINGOOG CITY, Misamis Oriental — Authorities arrested a man and confiscated over ₱164,000 worth of suspected shabu along with a .45 caliber pistol during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Lunao on Saturday afternoon, September 13.

The operation, conducted at around 4:35 p.m. by the City Drug Enforcement Team (CDET) and Beat Patrol Personnel of the Gingoog City Police Station, resulted in the recovery of approximately 24.13 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of ₱164,084.

Aside from the illegal drugs, operatives also seized a caliber .45 pistol with seven live rounds and cash amounting to ₱7,600 believed to be proceeds from the illegal drug trade.

The suspect, whose identity was not immediately disclosed by authorities, is now in police custody along with the confiscated evidence. He faces charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and Illegal Possession of Firearms.

Police officials lauded the operation as part of their intensified campaign against illegal drugs and firearms in the city.
