Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental — A suspected drug peddler was arrested during a joint buy-bust operation conducted by the Gingoog City Police Station at Zone-2, Barangay 19, on April 5, 2025, at around 2:10 p.m.

In a report submitted by Police Colonel Wilbur M. Salaguste, Provincial Director of the Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office (MORPPO), to Police Brigadier General Jaysen C. De Guzman, Regional Director, the operation was led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Dennis D. Delos Santos, Officer-in-Charge of the Gingoog City Police Station.

The suspect, identified as a 25-year-old common-law married male and resident of the area, was apprehended during the buy-bust. Authorities confiscated one elongated sachet of alleged shabu used in the transaction, along with five more elongated sachets, one big rectangular sachet, and one big square sachet of suspected shabu, all believed to be for possession. Also seized were Php500 in marked money, a black coin purse, and an open big rectangular transparent plastic sachet.

Initial estimates placed the total weight of the seized substances at approximately 14.29 grams, with a standard drug price of Php97,172.00.

The suspect is currently detained at the Gingoog City Police Station for booking and appropriate legal procedures. The confiscated items have been sent to the Regional Forensic Unit 10 for qualitative and quantitative examination.

PCOL Salaguste praised the operating team for their successful operation and reaffirmed MORPPO’s commitment to intensify its anti-drug and anti-criminality efforts throughout the province.
