Cagayan de Oro City – The Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10) successfully confiscated illegal drugs valued at over Php 649,522.40 and apprehended 142 individuals during a three-day Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO) conducted across the region from November 22 to 24, 2024.

The comprehensive operation targeted various criminal activities, leading to significant accomplishments in the campaign against illegal drugs, unlicensed firearms, illegal gambling, and wanted persons.

Anti-Illegal Drugs Campaign

Under Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, PRO10 conducted nine operations enforcing search warrants. These efforts resulted in:

  • 11 arrests,
  • The seizure of 9.6 grams of shabu worth Php 65,280.00, and
  • The confiscation of five small arms.

Additionally, 34 buy-bust operations were carried out, leading to the arrest of 40 drug suspects. Authorities confiscated:

  • 85.57 grams of shabu valued at Php 581,876.00, and
  • 0.5 grams of marijuana.

Separate operations yielded an additional 0.2 grams of shabu and 32 small arms, while arresting three individuals.

Crackdown on Illegal Gambling

The anti-illegal gambling campaign saw eight successful operations, resulting in:

  • The apprehension of 16 suspects, and
  • The confiscation of Php 6,653.00 in bet money.

Arrests of Wanted Persons

As part of the operation, PRO10 arrested a total of 72 wanted individuals, including 14 most wanted persons and 58 others sought for various offenses.

Statement from Regional Director

PBGEN Jaysen C. De Guzman, Regional Director of PRO10, commended the dedication and commitment of the police officers involved in SACLEO.

“We will not let up with our operations against all forms of criminality in the region. The success of this SACLEO demonstrates our unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the public,” De Guzman said.

The operation highlights PRO10’s steadfast efforts to combat criminality and ensure peace and order in Northern Mindanao. Authorities reiterated their resolve to continue implementing proactive measures against crime to maintain the safety and security of the region’s residents.
