DAVAO CITY — Authorities scored a major victory in the government’s intensified anti-illegal drug campaign after arresting a Top Priority Illegal Drug Personality (TIP) and an alleged accomplice during a buy-bust operation that led to the seizure of more than ₱7.7 million worth of suspected shabu in Davao City.

The high-impact anti-drug operation was carried out at around 3:04 p.m. on July 1, 2026, in Purok 10-B, New Town, Barangay Bago Gallera, by operatives of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO).

Police identified the suspects only by their aliases “Brad,” 31, who was listed as a Top Priority Illegal Drug Personality, and “Hannah,” 33.

The operation was spearheaded by personnel of Police Station 17 (Baliok) under the leadership of Police Major Harold S. Untalan, with support from the 2nd City Mobile Force Company (CMFC) and the City Intelligence Unit (CIU).

According to police reports, operatives confiscated approximately 135.8 grams of suspected shabu from the suspects. The illegal drugs have an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱7,723,440, making it one of the significant drug hauls recorded by the station this year.

The confiscated evidence was properly documented and will undergo forensic laboratory examination as part of the ongoing investigation.

The two suspects are now facing charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. They are currently under police custody while the necessary legal proceedings are being undertaken.

Following the successful operation, Davao City Police Office Director Police Colonel Peter Bauzon Madria commended the operating units for their coordinated and intelligence-driven efforts that resulted in the arrest of a high-value target and the recovery of a substantial amount of illegal drugs.

Madria reiterated that the DCPO remains steadfast in its zero-tolerance policy against illegal drugs, emphasizing that the city’s police force will continue to intensify intelligence-driven operations and strengthen collaboration with communities to dismantle illegal drug networks operating within Davao City.

“The Davao City Police Office remains unyielding at the absolute forefront of the fight against illegal drugs through aggressive law enforcement, intelligence-based operations, and strong community cooperation,” Madria said.

Authorities have also launched a follow-up investigation to determine the origin of the confiscated illegal drugs and identify other individuals who may be part of the suspects’ alleged drug distribution network.

The DCPO encouraged the public to continue supporting law enforcement by reporting illegal drug activities, stressing that community participation remains a vital component in sustaining the city’s campaign against illegal narcotics.
