A Low Pressure Area (LPA), formerly identified as “Caloy,” continues to influence weather conditions across Mindanao, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms in several provinces, according to the regional weather forecast issued by the Mindanao Regional Services Division of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

In its 5:00 a.m. bulletin issued Saturday, PAGASA said the LPA was estimated at around 980 kilometers east of Central Luzon as of 3:00 a.m., located at 16.3°N, 131.3°E.
Despite the weather disturbance being far from Mindanao, PAGASA said localized thunderstorms would continue to affect large portions of the island throughout the day until early Sunday morning.
Authorities warned residents to remain vigilant against possible flash floods and landslides during severe thunderstorms, particularly in low-lying and mountainous areas.
The weather bureau said winds across Mindanao will be light to moderate coming from the southeast to southwest, while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate with wave heights ranging from 0.6 to 1.2 meters.
Across the Zamboanga Peninsula, including Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela City, residents may expect intermittent rain showers and thunderstorms with temperatures ranging from 24°C to 36°C.
In Northern Mindanao, provinces such as Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental will also experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms. Bukidnon and North Cotabato are expected to record some of the highest daytime temperatures at up to 36°C.
In the Davao Region, including Metro Davao, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao Occidental, temperatures are expected to range between 24°C and 34°C with occasional thunderstorms throughout the forecast period.
PAGASA likewise placed the SOCCSKSARGEN Region under the same weather outlook. Provinces including South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, and North Cotabato are expected to experience isolated rain showers and thunderstorms, with daytime temperatures ranging from 22°C to 36°C.
Meanwhile, the Caraga Region, including Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands, may also experience thunderstorms, especially during the afternoon and evening hours.
In the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), including Cotabato City, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Maguindanao del Norte, and Maguindanao del Sur, residents are advised to monitor localized thunderstorms that may trigger flooding and landslides.
PAGASA advised the public, especially fishermen and small sea vessels, to continue monitoring weather advisories and updates as the LPA may further enhance rains over parts of the country in the coming days.
