CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Law enforcement authorities intensified their anti-illegal drug campaign, resulting in the arrest of two suspected drug pushers and the confiscation of more than ₱54,000 worth of suspected shabu in separate buy-bust operations conducted on March 31 and April 1, 2026.

In the first operation, a 26-year-old suspect identified only by the alias “Brad” was apprehended at around 9:48 p.m. on March 31 in Zone 2, Barangay Bulua. The operation was carried out by operatives of Police Station 7 of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-10) Regional Special Enforcement Team (RSET) Team Alpha.
Authorities seized approximately 5 grams of suspected shabu from the suspect, with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱34,000. Recovered during the operation were one sachet used as the buy-bust item, three additional sachets containing suspected illegal drugs, a marked ₱500 bill, a brown envelope, a cellular phone, and cash.
Less than 24 hours later, a follow-up operation led to the arrest of another suspect identified by the alias “Egon,” 48 years old, in Zone 9, Barangay Patag at around 2:42 p.m. on April 1. The operation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Unit of Police Station 4 (PS4-DEU), also under the COCPO, in coordination with PDEA.
Confiscated from the second suspect were around 3 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱20,400. Authorities also recovered one sachet used in the buy-bust transaction, two additional sachets of suspected illegal drugs, and a marked ₱500 bill.
Both suspects are currently under police custody at their respective stations and are set to face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police authorities reiterated their commitment to intensifying anti-drug operations in the city, urging the public to remain vigilant and continue cooperating with law enforcement agencies in reporting illegal drug activities within their communities.
