CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Authorities arrested a high-value individual (HVI) and seized more than ₱4 million worth of suspected shabu during a joint buy-bust operation conducted in Zone 7, Barangay Bugo, Cagayan de Oro City on the evening of June 2, 2026.

The suspect was identified only by the alias “Dan-Dan,” 48 years old, married, unemployed, and a resident of the said barangay.

The operation was led by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 10 (RPDEU-10) Team 1 in coordination with the COCPO RA RID 10, PDEG SOU 10, Police Station 6 of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office, and RIU-10, with the coordination of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

According to authorities, the suspect was arrested after allegedly selling illegal drugs to an undercover operative during the buy-bust operation.

Recovered from the suspect were several sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 600 grams with an estimated standard drug price of ₱4,080,000.

Authorities also recovered a weighing scale, a Nokia cellphone, a pouch, an eco bag, several containers believed to have been used for illegal drugs, and marked money used in the operation.

The suspect is currently under the custody of the Maharlika Custodial Facility while the confiscated substances are undergoing laboratory examination by RFU-10 to confirm their composition.

The suspect will face charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Authorities said the successful operation forms part of the government’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs and organized narcotics activities in Northern Mindanao.
