DAVAO CITY, Philippines — Residents across Mindanao are advised to prepare for generally unsettled weather conditions as the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecasts partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms from 5:00 AM on February 12 until 5:00 AM on February 13, 2026.

According to PAGASA’s Mindanao Regional Services Division (MINPRSD), the prevailing Easterlies—warm and moist winds coming from the Pacific Ocean—will continue to affect the region, bringing intermittent rains that may intensify in some areas.

Thunderstorms May Trigger Flash Floods, Landslides

PAGASA warned that while rains may be scattered, severe thunderstorms could develop, especially in the afternoon and evening, increasing the risk of flash floods and landslides, particularly in low-lying, mountainous, and landslide-prone communities.

Local government units and disaster response teams have been urged to remain on alert, while residents are advised to monitor weather updates and take precautionary measures, especially those living near rivers, slopes, and coastal areas.

Light to Moderate Winds, Slight to Moderate Seas Expected

Across Mindanao’s coastal provinces, winds will blow from the east to northeast at light to moderate speeds, resulting in slight to moderate sea conditions ranging from 0.6 to 2.1 meters.

Small fishing boats and sea vessels are advised to exercise caution, especially during thunderstorms when waves and winds may suddenly intensify.

Zamboanga Peninsula: Cloudy Skies, Intermittent Showers

In Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela City, residents can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with occasional rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Temperatures in the peninsula will range from 22°C to 33°C, with coastal waters remaining slightly to moderately rough.

Northern Mindanao: Cool Mornings, Possible Afternoon Rains

Provinces in Northern Mindanao, including Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental, will experience similar conditions.

Bukidnon may record cooler temperatures, ranging from 19°C to 32°C, especially in elevated areas, while coastal provinces will have temperatures between 22°C and 31°C.

Afternoon thunderstorms may disrupt travel and outdoor activities, PAGASA noted.

Davao Region: Warm and Humid with Thunderstorm Risks

The Davao Region, covering Metro Davao, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao Occidental, will continue to experience warm and humid weather with scattered rainshowers.

Temperatures may climb to as high as 33°C, particularly in lowland and urban areas, while thunderstorms may occur later in the day.

Residents are advised to remain cautious of sudden downpours that could cause localized flooding.

SOCCSKSARGEN and Caraga: Rainy Spells Likely

In SOCCSKSARGEN (North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani), as well as the Caraga Region (Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands), weather conditions will remain unstable.

Temperatures will range from 22°C to 32°C, while coastal waters will be slightly to moderately rough. Farmers and fishermen are advised to plan activities carefully due to possible rain interruptions.

BARMM: Widespread Cloudiness, Possible Heavy Rains

Provinces under the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), including Cotabato City, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Maguindanao del Norte, and Maguindanao del Sur, will also experience cloudy skies with intermittent rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Temperatures may reach up to 34°C, particularly in Maguindanao and Cotabato City, while coastal areas will face moderate sea conditions.

Authorities have reminded communities in flood-prone areas to remain vigilant.

PAGASA Urges Public to Stay Alert

PAGASA emphasized the importance of staying informed, especially as weather conditions may change rapidly due to the influence of Easterlies.

Residents are encouraged to:

  • Monitor official PAGASA bulletins
  • Avoid crossing flooded roads
  • Secure loose outdoor items
  • Prepare emergency kits
  • Heed advisories from local authorities

For updates and inquiries, the public may contact PAGASA through (02) 8922-1992 and (02) 8927-1335, or visit bagong.pagasa.dost.gov.ph.

As Mindanao continues to experience variable weather patterns, authorities stress that preparedness and timely response remain key to minimizing risks and protecting lives and livelihoods.
