Mindanao — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued its latest regional weather forecast at 5:00 AM today, November 26, 2025, warning Mindanao residents of continued unstable weather conditions as Tropical Storm Verbena moves farther west of Palawan while localized thunderstorms persist across the region.
As of 3:00 AM, the center of Tropical Storm Verbena was located 120 kilometers west of Coron, Palawan, carrying maximum sustained winds of 85 kph near the center and gustiness reaching 105 kph. The storm is moving west-northwest at 25 kph, continuing to enhance winds and bring rain-bearing clouds affecting large parts of Mindanao.
Despite the storm’s distance, PAGASA reports that localized thunderstorms remain active over the island, potentially bringing isolated rainshowers, sudden downpours, and lightning activity throughout the day. The agency warns of possible flash floods and landslides, especially during severe thunderstorms or prolonged rainfall.

PAGASA ADVISORY AND PUBLIC REMINDERS
PAGASA reiterates that localized thunderstorms may produce intense but short-lived heavy rains capable of causing flooding in low-lying areas, swelling of rivers, and landslides in mountain zones. Residents are strongly advised to remain vigilant, particularly in communities with a history of weather-triggered hazards.
Fisherfolk and small sea vessels in areas experiencing moderate sea conditions, especially around Surigao del Norte, Dinagat Islands, and Davao Oriental, are urged to take precautionary measures.
Tropical Storm Verbena is expected to move further away from the country’s landmass, but its outer rainbands and the enhanced wind flow will continue to influence Mindanao’s weather until tomorrow morning.
