TAGOLOAN, Misamis Oriental — Police arrested three individuals and seized suspected shabu worth more than ₱204,000 during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Santa Cruz, Tagoloan, on Monday, September 8, 2025.

Personnel of the Tagoloan Municipal Police Station (MPS), under the Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office, identified the suspects through their aliases as “Lolong,” 20; “Gelly,” 18; and “Vince,” 23. All are residents of the barangay where the operation was carried out.

Authorities said Lolong and Gelly are siblings, with Gelly allegedly acting as the group’s source of the illegal drugs. She, however, refused to disclose the supplier of the confiscated contraband. Both siblings are unemployed, while Vince, their neighbor, is a student. Police believe their activities were confined within Tagoloan.

Confiscated from the suspects were 14 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing about 30 grams with a standard drug price of ₱204,000. Also recovered were a sunglasses pouch, a pack of cigarettes, a wallet, and a marked ₱500 bill used in the buy-bust.

The three suspects are currently detained at the Tagoloan MPS while charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against them.

Police Regional Office 10 (PRO-10) Regional Director PBGen Rolindo M. Suguilon lauded the operating units for the successful anti-drug operation.

“PRO-10 remains firm in our resolve to protect our communities from the scourge of illegal drugs. I commend the Tagoloan MPS for a job well done. We assure the public that PRO-10 will continue to intensify its anti-drug campaign through sustained operations, close collaboration with stakeholders, and strong community engagement,” Suguilon said.
