Mindanao – August 27, 2025, 5:00 AM – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that two Low Pressure Areas (LPAs) are currently affecting the country while the southwest monsoon continues to bring rains across Mindanao.
As of 3:00 AM, one LPA was spotted near Patnanungan, Quezon, while another was estimated 200 kilometers west of Dagupan City, Pangasinan. The southwest monsoon is directly affecting Mindanao, particularly the Zamboanga Peninsula and Northern Mindanao, where cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected throughout the day. PAGASA cautioned residents in these areas to be alert for possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. Winds will be light to moderate from the southwest with slight to moderate seas ranging from 0.6 to 1.5 meters.
