August 26, 2025 – Mindanao — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has warned of continued rains across parts of Mindanao as the southwest monsoon (habagat) affects the region, enhanced by a Low Pressure Area (LPA) spotted off the coastal waters of Paracale, Camarines Norte early Tuesday.

According to PAGASA’s 5:00 PM regional weather forecast, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), and the Zamboanga Peninsula will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms until Wednesday. Residents in these areas are urged to remain vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides triggered by moderate to at times heavy rainfall.

The rest of Mindanao, including the Davao and SOCCSKSARGEN regions, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. PAGASA likewise cautioned against flooding in low-lying areas and landslides in upland communities during severe thunderstorms.

Winds will be light to moderate from the southwest to west, with coastal waters ranging from slight to moderate (0.6 to 1.8 meters).
