1 July 2025 | Mindanao – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued a regional weather forecast for Mindanao, warning of scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms in several provinces due to the influence of a Low Pressure Area (LPA) and the prevailing southwest monsoon.
As of 3:00 AM today, the LPA was located approximately 650 km east of Infanta, Quezon (14.7°N, 127.7°E). This weather disturbance is expected to enhance the southwest monsoon, affecting major parts of Mindanao from today until early morning tomorrow, July 2.
Areas with Scattered Rains and Thunderstorms
Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms are forecast in Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga Region. The rest of Mindanao, including parts of Davao, SOCCSKSARGEN, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Winds across the region will be light to moderate from southwest to west, with coastal waters ranging from slight to moderate at 0.6 to 1.5 meters in wave height.

- Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental: Cloudy with rainshowers and thunderstorms; 23°C – 31°C.
Davao Region
- Metro Davao, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, Davao Occidental: Partly cloudy to at times cloudy with rainshowers or thunderstorms; 23°C – 32°C.
SOCCSKSARGEN
- North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani: Partly cloudy to at times cloudy with rainshowers or thunderstorms; 23°C – 32°C.
Caraga Region
- Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Dinagat Islands: Cloudy with rainshowers and thunderstorms; 24°C – 32°C.
BARMM (Bangsamoro Region)
- Cotabato City, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur: Partly cloudy to at times cloudy with rainshowers or thunderstorms; 21°C – 32°C.
Advisory
