MALALAG, Davao del Sur — A 27-year-old man identified by authorities as a suspected drug personality in Malalag was arrested during a buy-bust operation that resulted in the seizure of suspected shabu, dried marijuana, marijuana kush, and cartridges believed to contain marijuana oil, authorities said.

The operation was conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Davao del Sur (PDEA-Davao del Sur) in coordination with the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit XI (RPDEU-XI) at around 11:26 a.m. on September 7, 2026, in Purok Mangga, Barangay Poblacion, Malalag.
According to the report from PDEA XI, the suspect, identified only as alias “Dom,” 27, was arrested after he allegedly sold suspected shabu worth ₱7,000 to an undercover PDEA agent acting as the poseur-buyer.
The operation was carried out following information gathered by law enforcement authorities regarding Dom’s alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade in the municipality.
During the operation, authorities reported confiscating three sachets containing suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 57 grams.
Operatives also seized 66 plastic cellophane packets containing suspected dried marijuana, five plastic cellophane packets containing suspected marijuana kush, and five vape cartridges believed to contain marijuana oil.
Authorities placed the total value of the purchased and confiscated suspected illegal drugs at approximately ₱780,000.
The seizure represents a significant volume of suspected illegal drugs removed from circulation in Malalag, although the exact composition and weight of the seized substances will remain subject to laboratory examination and official confirmation.
The suspect is expected to face appropriate charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act No. 9165), subject to the findings of investigators and prosecutors.
PDEA and police authorities continue to conduct operations against individuals suspected of involvement in the illegal drug trade as part of intensified efforts to curb the distribution of dangerous drugs in Davao del Sur.
As of the latest report, authorities had not disclosed further details regarding the suspect’s background, possible associates, or the source of the seized substances.
The arrest and confiscation remain allegations at this stage, and the suspect is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
