Mindanao — February 11, 2026
Several areas in Mindanao are expected to experience cloudy skies, scattered rains, and isolated thunderstorms over the next 24 hours as a shear line continues to affect the eastern and northern sections of the region, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

In its Regional Weather Forecast for Mindanao (MINPRSD) issued at 5:00 a.m. on February 11, PAGASA said that Surigao del Norte, Agusan del Norte, Misamis Oriental, Camiguin, and the Dinagat Islands will be directly affected by the shear line, bringing moderate to heavy rainfall that may trigger flash floods and landslides, especially in low-lying and mountainous areas.
Rainy Conditions in Northern and Eastern Mindanao
Residents in Northern Mindanao and parts of Caraga are advised to prepare for cloudy skies with frequent rainshowers and thunderstorms. Camiguin and Misamis Oriental, including nearby coastal areas, are expected to experience persistent cloud cover and periods of heavy rain throughout the day.
In Caraga, Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Islands will face moderate to strong northeasterly to northerly winds, resulting in moderate to rough sea conditions. Waves in these areas may reach between 2.8 and 3.1 meters, posing risks to small fishing boats and sea travel.
Surigao del Sur will also experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms, accompanied by strong winds and rough coastal waters.
Generally Fair but Unstable Weather in Other Areas
The rest of Mindanao, including most of Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN, and BARMM, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms caused by localized weather disturbances.
Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela City are expected to have intermittent rains, with temperatures ranging from 23°C to 33°C. Winds in these areas will remain light to moderate from the northeast, with slight to moderate sea conditions.
Bukidnon, Lanao del Norte, and Misamis Occidental will also experience similar weather patterns, with occasional thunderstorms and temperatures ranging from 19°C to 31°C.
In the Davao Region, including Metro Davao, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao de Oro, and Davao Occidental, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered rains are expected. However, Davao Oriental will continue to experience stronger winds and rougher seas due to its exposure to northeasterly winds.
Weather Outlook in SOCCSKSARGEN and BARMM
Provinces in SOCCSKSARGEN, including North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani, will experience generally fair weather with occasional thunderstorms. Temperatures in these areas may reach up to 32°C during daytime.
In the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), including Cotabato City, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Maguindanao del Norte, and Maguindanao del Sur, weather conditions will remain partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers. Coastal waters will be slight to moderate, making sea travel generally manageable but still requiring caution.
Advisory to the Public
PAGASA urged residents in affected areas, particularly in northern and eastern Mindanao, to remain alert for possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate to heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
Fisherfolk and small vessel operators are advised to avoid sailing in areas with moderate to rough seas, especially along the eastern seaboard of Mindanao, including parts of Caraga and Davao Oriental.
Motorists are also reminded to take extra precautions during periods of heavy rainfall, as slippery roads and reduced visibility may increase the risk of accidents.
PAGASA continues to monitor weather conditions and encourages the public to stay updated through official bulletins and advisories posted on its website and social media platforms.
