October 10, 2025 – Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected to prevail across the entire Mindanao region today, October 10, 2025, due to the prevailing southwesterly wind flow, according to the latest regional weather forecast issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) at 5:00 a.m.

PAGASA warned residents that moderate to at times heavy rains may trigger flash floods and landslides, particularly in flood-prone and mountainous areas. The weather bureau also noted that light to moderate winds blowing from the southwest to southeast will prevail throughout the region, with slight to moderate seas ranging from 0.6 to 2.1 meters in height.

Widespread Cloudy Skies Across Key Regions

In Zamboanga Peninsula, including Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, del Sur, Sibugay, and Isabela City, residents can expect intermittent rains and thunderstorms throughout the day and night, with temperatures ranging from 24°C to 32°C. Seas around the peninsula will remain slight to moderate, suitable for small vessels but still requiring caution during thunderstorms.

Northern Mindanao provinces — Bukidnon, Camiguin, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, and Lanao del Norte — will likewise experience cloudy skies with rain showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will hover between 20°C and 31°C, with light to moderate winds from the southwest to southeast.

In the Davao Region, including Davao City, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao Occidental, cloudy skies and rain showers will persist throughout the day and night. Daytime temperatures may reach up to 32°C, while nighttime temperatures could drop to 23°C. PAGASA advised residents to stay alert for possible localized thunderstorms that could bring sudden heavy downpours.

The SOCCSKSARGEN Region, covering Cotabato City, North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani, will also experience scattered rains and thunderstorms with temperatures between 23°C and 31°C. Coastal waters remain slight to moderate, but small crafts are advised to monitor weather updates closely.

Meanwhile, in Caraga RegionAgusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands — residents should brace for cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms. Temperatures are expected to reach 31°C to 35°C during the day and cool down to 24°C at night. PAGASA particularly warned of heavy rainfall episodes that could lead to flooding in low-lying areas.

Rainy Conditions in BARMM

Across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), including Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Norte and del Sur, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi, the same weather pattern will persist. PAGASA forecasts cloudy skies with rain showers and thunderstorms due to the continued effect of the southwesterly wind flow. Daytime temperatures may reach 31°C, dropping to 20°C in upland areas like Lanao del Sur.

In Sulu and Tawi-Tawi, coastal waters will remain slightly moderate, and residents are advised to remain cautious of thunderstorms that may bring strong winds and large waves.

Public Advisory

PAGASA reiterated its advice for the public to take precautionary measures against possible flash floods, landslides, and sudden gusts of wind during thunderstorms. Fisherfolk and small sea vessels are also advised to remain cautious when venturing out to sea.
