MINDANAO — Residents across Mindanao are advised to stay alert for possible flash floods and landslides as the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecasts widespread rains and thunderstorms brought by southwesterly windflow affecting large parts of the island.
According to the PAGASA Mindanao – El Salvador City station (MINPRSD), the Zamboanga Peninsula and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms throughout the day. These areas are expected to receive moderate to at times heavy rainfall, which could trigger flooding in low-lying areas and landslides in mountainous terrain.
Meanwhile, the rest of Mindanao — including Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN, and Caraga — will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, mostly in the afternoon or evening due to localized convection.

Advisory and Public Reminder
PAGASA warns that moderate to heavy rains over the Zamboanga Peninsula and BARMM may result in flash floods and landslides, particularly in areas with steep slopes, loose soil, or poor drainage systems.
Residents are urged to remain vigilant, monitor official weather updates, and coordinate with local disaster risk reduction and management offices (DRRMOs) for precautionary measures. Fisherfolk and small seacraft operators are also advised to exercise caution when venturing out to sea due to possible strong winds and moderate waves.
