Cagayan de Oro City – Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10) has arrested two drug personalities and confiscated a total of ₱544,000 worth of suspected shabu in separate buy-bust operations in Cagayan de Oro City and Bukidnon on October 11 and 12, 2025.

In Cagayan de Oro City, the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO), together with the City Mobile Force Company (CMFC) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 10 (PDEA-10), conducted a joint buy-bust operation at Purok 3A, Barangay Gusa on October 11.

Authorities arrested a 33-year-old woman known as alias “Jolie,” a resident of the area and listed as a High-Value Individual (HVI). Seized from her possession were eight sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 60 grams, with an estimated value of ₱408,000, along with the ₱500 marked buy-bust money.

Police investigation revealed that “Jolie” had continued engaging in the illegal drug trade as her primary source of income, despite her husband’s arrest two years earlier for a similar offense.

Meanwhile, in Bukidnon, the Maramag Drug Enforcement Unit, in coordination with the Bukidnon Provincial Intelligence Unit and PDEA, carried out another buy-bust operation at Purok 3, North Poblacion, Maramag, around 10:45 p.m. on October 12.

The suspect, identified as alias “Mermer,” 37, married, and a businessman, was arrested after allegedly turning to drug activities due to financial difficulties. The operation yielded six sachets of suspected shabu weighing around two grams, valued at ₱136,000, along with a ₱500 marked bill.

Both suspects are now in police custody, with charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) set to be filed against them.

PBGEN Christopher N. Abrahano, Acting Regional Director of PRO10, lauded the operating units for their successful operations, emphasizing the agency’s continued fight against illegal drugs.

“I commend our units for their relentless efforts in keeping our communities safe from illegal drugs. These achievements reflect our strong commitment to protect every family from the dangers of drug abuse,” Abrahano said.
“I encourage everyone to remain vigilant and continue supporting the police by reporting any suspicious activities so we can build a safer region.”

Authorities assured that intensified anti-drug operations will continue across Northern Mindanao as part of PRO10’s ongoing campaign to ensure peace and order in local communities.
