RAMON MAGSAYSAY, Zamboanga del Sur — Armed robbers struck a gasoline station in Barangay Switch on Tuesday evening, April 14, 2026, carting away nearly ₱50,000 in cash and a mobile phone in a swift and brazen heist captured on closed-circuit television (CCTV).

The robbery took place at around 6:50 p.m. at the Gas N Go Gasoline Station located in Purok 5, where a 28-year-old pump attendant was on duty at the time of the incident.
According to the victim, he initially believed the suspects were regular customers intending to refuel. However, the situation quickly escalated when the two men dismounted from their motorcycle, threatened him, and declared a holdup.
“They suddenly pointed at me and announced the robbery,” the pump boy recounted, describing the frightening ordeal.
CCTV footage later reviewed by authorities showed two masked individuals wearing bonnets arriving on a black-and-green Skygo motorcycle. The suspects were seen approaching the attendant before forcibly taking cash from the cashier and seizing the victim’s cellphone.
After the robbery, the suspects immediately fled the scene, heading in the direction of Molave, Zamboanga del Sur.
As of this writing, the Philippine National Police, through the Ramon Magsaysay Municipal Police Station, has yet to release an official statement as investigations remain ongoing. Authorities have launched follow-up operations to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
Police are also urging members of the public to remain vigilant and to report any information that could lead to the identification and arrest of the suspects.
The incident underscores ongoing concerns over security in rural areas, as law enforcement intensifies efforts to curb criminal activities across the province.
