CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Operatives of the Police Regional Office 10 (PRO-10) arrested five suspected drug personalities and confiscated illegal drugs valued at ₱461,720 in a series of intensified anti-drug operations conducted from April 10 to 11, 2026 across Northern Mindanao.

The coordinated operations, carried out in Bukidnon and Misamis Oriental, targeted both street-level and mid-level drug suspects as part of the region’s ongoing crackdown against illegal narcotics.
The first operation took place at around 10:15 p.m. on April 10 in Talakag, Bukidnon, where personnel of the Talakag Municipal Police Station, in coordination with other law enforcement units, conducted a buy-bust operation that led to the arrest of a live-in couple identified by their aliases “Rick” and “Nene.” Both are residents of the municipality.
Authorities seized approximately 8.9 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of ₱60,520. Also recovered from the suspects were personal belongings, a motorcycle, a caliber .45 firearm with ammunition, and the marked ₱500 bill used in the operation. The presence of a firearm has raised concerns over the potential for violence linked to illegal drug activities in the area.
Later that night, at about 11:43 p.m., operatives from Police Station 5 of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office implemented a search warrant in Barangay Macabalan, Cagayan de Oro City. The operation resulted in the arrest of alias “Junling,” a 30-year-old identified as a street-level individual.
Seized from his possession were around 9 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱61,200, along with various drug paraphernalia, further indicating ongoing illegal drug distribution activities in the urban barangay.
In the early hours of April 11, at approximately 2:29 a.m., a joint operation led by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 10 resulted in the arrest of two more suspects in Barangay Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City. The suspects were identified as alias “Win-win,” 56, a resident of Lapasan, and “Mel,” 25, a resident of Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.
Authorities confiscated a significant volume of suspected shabu weighing approximately 50 grams, with an estimated street value of ₱340,000—the largest haul among the three operations. Also recovered were a marked ₱1,000 bill used for the buy-bust and additional drug paraphernalia.
All five arrested individuals are now under police custody and are set to face charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, which penalizes the sale, possession, and distribution of illegal drugs in the country.
PRO-10 Regional Director PBGEN Christopher N Abrahano commended the operating units for their swift and coordinated efforts, emphasizing the importance of sustained law enforcement operations in curbing the proliferation of illegal drugs in Northern Mindanao.
“These successful operations reflect our unwavering commitment to intensify the fight against illegal drugs and ensure safer communities,” Abrahano said.
Authorities reaffirmed that intelligence-driven operations and inter-agency coordination will continue as part of a broader strategy to dismantle drug networks operating in the region.
