Mindanao – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned today, August 24, 2025, that a Low Pressure Area (LPA) spotted 445 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, is currently affecting large parts of Mindanao, bringing scattered rains and thunderstorms.
As of 3:00 AM, the weather bureau said the LPA is causing cloudy skies, moderate to at times heavy rains, and thunderstorms over Caraga, Northern Mindanao, and Davao Region, with possible flash floods and landslides. The rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with localized thunderstorms. Winds are expected to be light to moderate from southwest to west with slight to moderate seas at 0.6 to 1.8 meters.
