Davao City, July 6, 2025 — Law enforcement authorities arrested one of the Davao Region’s most wanted drug personalities following a successful implementation of a search warrant on July 5 in Monkayo, Davao de Oro.
The operation led to the arrest of alias “Bobong,” identified as the region’s number 8 High-Value Individual (HVI) in the drug watchlist. The suspect was apprehended at Purok Duranta, Barangay Union, Monkayo, and is now under the custody of the Monkayo Municipal Police Station for proper case disposition.
Recovered during the operation were 19 heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 105 grams, with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PHP 714,000. Also seized was a large glass tooter, commonly used as drug paraphernalia.
The search and arrest operation was carried out by combined forces from the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) 11, Monkayo Municipal Police Station, Regional Intelligence Division–Provincial Intelligence Team of Davao de Oro, Provincial Intelligence Unit, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of the Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office (DDOPPO), and the 1st Davao de Oro Provincial Mobile Force Company (DDOPMFC).
Police Brigadier General Joseph R. Arguelles, Acting Regional Director of Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11), praised the coordination and dedication of the operating teams, calling the arrest a significant blow to the illegal drug trade in the region.
“This successful operation reflects PRO 11’s unwavering commitment in the campaign against illegal drugs and wanted persons,” PBGEN Arguelles said. “We remain steadfast in supporting the directive of our Chief, PNP, PGen Nicolas D. Torre III, under his more effective and humane anti-drug strategy aimed at dismantling high-profile syndicates and curbing small-time street-level operations.”
Authorities assured that follow-up investigations are underway to trace the possible network and suppliers connected to alias “Bobong” as part of the region’s intensified efforts to dismantle drug syndicates.
