Montevista, Davao de Oro – In a series of operations underscoring the government’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs, the Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office successfully apprehended two individuals for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (R.A. 9165).

First Arrest: Montevista Operation Alias “Dom,” a 44-year-old married driver from Purok 2, Barangay Linoan, Montevista, was arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by the Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office. Supported by various police units, this operation is part of a broader effort to curtail illegal drug activities in the region.

The arrest was made in the presence of insulating witnesses, including a Barangay Kagawad and a Department of Justice representative from the Office of Provincial Prosecutors of Davao de Oro, ensuring transparency and adherence to due process. In addition to charges under R.A. 9165, the suspect faces violations of R.A. 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act. The suspect remains in custody as authorities proceed with the necessary legal actions.

Second Arrest: Monkayo Operation In a separate operation, a 41-year-old resident of Purok 2, Barangay Poblacion, Monkayo, was arrested on the strength of a warrant issued for violating R.A. 9165. The court has set bail at Php 200,000 for the suspect, who also remains in police custody pending further proceedings.
