DAVAO DE ORO – Authorities intensified their campaign against illegal drugs in the province after separate buy-bust operations in Mabini, Nabunturan, and Monkayo led to the arrest of six suspects and the dismantling of a suspected drug den.
In Barangay Pindasan, Mabini, police operatives nabbed two suspects in an early morning buy-bust operation. The joint operation was conducted by the Mabini Municipal Police Station, the 2nd Davao de Oro Provincial Mobile Force Company, the 1101st Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 11, the Philippine Coast Guard, and other partner units. Confiscated from the suspects were several sachets of suspected shabu, an improvised glass tube tooter, a coin purse, lighters, and marked buy-bust money.
Meanwhile, in Barangay San Isidro, Nabunturan, a suspected drug den was dismantled in a joint operation led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Davao de Oro and the Nabunturan Municipal Police Station. Three individuals were arrested inside the alleged drug den. Authorities seized 17 sachets of suspected shabu, glass pipes, improvised tooters, foil strips, lighters, mobile phones, two motorcycles, and marked money. The suspects now face multiple charges under Republic Act No. 9165, including sale and possession of dangerous drugs, use of illegal substances, and maintenance of a drug den.
In a separate operation in Barangay Macopa, Monkayo, police arrested a 52-year-old suspect identified only as alias “Arman.” The joint buy-bust operation led by the Monkayo Municipal Police Station’s Municipal Drug Enforcement Unit, with support from various provincial police units and PDEA, resulted in the recovery of two heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu and a one-thousand-peso bill used as marked money.
All arrested individuals are now under police custody and will face charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Authorities vowed to sustain their intensified anti-illegal drug operations across Davao de Oro to curb the spread of illegal substances in communities.
