Davao de Oro — Law enforcement authorities arrested two individuals in separate anti-drug operations conducted in the municipalities of Maragusan and Monkayo, Davao de Oro, as part of the continuing crackdown on illegal drugs in the province.
In Barangay Mapawa, Maragusan, police operatives apprehended a male suspect identified only by his alias “Pogs,” a local welder. The buy-bust operation led to the confiscation of several sachets of suspected shabu, a marked bill used in the operation, a plastic wrapper, and a coin purse believed to be used for storing the illegal drugs.
Meanwhile, in a separate operation in Barangay Poblacion, Monkayo, police arrested another male suspect, alias “Tawing,” a jobless resident of Barangay Pasian. Authorities seized two plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, a PHP 1,000 marked bill, and a black sling bag from the suspect.
In both cases, the arresting teams ensured that the suspects were informed of their constitutional rights and subjected them to medical examinations following standard procedures.
All confiscated items were properly documented and are now in police custody as evidence. The suspects will face charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The successful operations highlight the intensified efforts of the Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office to combat the proliferation of illegal drugs in the region.
