Davao Oriental Governor Niño Uy reaffirmed his commitment to gender equality and inclusive development during the culmination program of Women’s Month in the municipalities of Caraga and Tarragona.
“As we celebrate this occasion, we must ensure that both women and men continue to thrive and contribute to the progress of our beloved province,” Governor Uy stated.
He emphasized that gender equality is not just about women but also includes men in the collective effort to build a just and equitable society. The governor highlighted that this principle guides his administration in providing equal opportunities and quality government services to all, regardless of gender, age, or background.
The Women’s Month celebration in Caraga and Tarragona was filled with vibrant cultural presentations, including dance performances from women’s organizations representing various barangays. These performances showcased the diverse talents and skills of women, proving that their contributions extend beyond household responsibilities and into the broader development of their communities.
Spearheaded by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) in collaboration with Local Government Units (LGUs), the month-long, province-wide celebration aimed to promote women’s empowerment and gender equality. Under the strong leadership of Governor Uy, the provincial government remains committed to advancing initiatives that uplift women across all sectors in Davao Oriental.
The administration firmly believes that gender inclusivity is fundamental in building a fair, progressive, and sustainable province for all its citizens.
