CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The night market in the Cogon area recorded a significant increase in revenue for the year 2024, collecting a total of P4,914,375.00 compared to P2,286,735.00 in 2023, according to the City Economic Enterprises and Business Development Administration (CEEBDA) under Department Manager Mary Sean Molig.

Additionally, from August to December 2024, the Carmen Night Market generated P643,508.00 in revenue. In recognition of this achievement, the city administration under Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy, through CEEBDA, expressed gratitude to all night market vendors in Cogon and Carmen for their continued commitment to paying their stall fees. The administration also acknowledged the dedication of night market collectors who diligently collect these fees each night.
CEEBDA remains hopeful that this positive trend will continue, particularly with the strong cooperation of night market vendors in fulfilling their financial obligations, which contribute to the city’s economic progress.
Meanwhile, the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC), led by Mayor Uy through the City Anti-Drug Abuse Division – Oro Wellness Center (CADAD-Oro Wellness Center), extended its appreciation for the successful implementation of the Monthly Tabo 2025. This initiative, part of the livelihood activities under the Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation (CBDR) Aftercare Program, takes place every third week of the month until October at the City Hall Mini Park.
Dr. Rhyselle Bernadette Melliza-Descallar, head of CADAD-Oro Wellness, highlighted that the program showcases livelihood products created by Recovering Drug Responders or Recovering Persons Who Use Drugs (RPWUDs) from various barangays. Participants, along with their families and CBDR service providers, actively take part in the event.
The Monthly Tabo aims to help these individuals reintegrate into their communities by providing them with sustainable livelihood opportunities. Through this program, they are encouraged to lead drug-free lives and earn a living with dignity, free from the struggles of substance abuse, addiction, or illegal drug trade.
The city government remains committed to supporting both economic enterprise and community rehabilitation programs, ensuring sustainable growth and inclusive opportunities for all residents.
