Zamboanga City is set to celebrate its vibrant culture and entrepreneurial spirit with the first-ever Feria de Productos de Zamboanga, a products fair that runs from February 19 to 28 at Plaza Pershing. This exciting event is part of the 88th Dia de la Ciudad de Zamboanga celebration, aiming to highlight the diverse and high-quality products of local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Organized by the City Investment and Promotion Services Division and the City Tourism Office, in collaboration with the City Agriculturist Office, the fair is open daily from 1 PM to 7 PM. It provides a unique platform for Zamboanga-based MSMEs to showcase and sell their products, reinforcing the city’s commitment to fostering local entrepreneurship and economic growth.
A Diverse Selection of Local Products
The Feria de Productos brings together an initial 13 MSMEs, featuring a mix of food and non-food businesses, as well as agricultural enterprises. Specifically, the lineup includes four food establishments, four non-food businesses, and five agri-businesses, all of which have previously represented Zamboanga in national and international trade fairs.
From artisanal crafts to delectable local delicacies, visitors can expect a rich display of Zamboanga’s finest products, each carrying the unique flavors and craftsmanship of the region. The event not only serves as a marketplace but also as a testament to the city’s dynamic and resilient business community.
A Grand Opening with Key Officials
The opening ceremony on Wednesday afternoon was graced by notable figures in the local government and business sector. City Agriculturist Arben Magdugo, representing Mayor John Dalipe, led the event, alongside DTI-9 Business Development Division Chief Angelie Amazon and Investment Promotions Officer Raisa Mae Fernandez. Their presence underscored the local government’s strong support for MSMEs and its ongoing initiatives to promote economic development through trade fairs and business expositions.
Savores: A Culinary Showdown
Adding more excitement to the fair, the City Tourism Office will hold “Savores,” a culinary competition, on Sunday, February 23, at 3 PM at the same venue. The contest will feature chefs from different restaurants, each competing to create the best Zamboangueño cuisine. This highly anticipated event will not only celebrate local gastronomy but also provide a stage for culinary artists to showcase their skills in traditional and modern interpretations of Zamboanga’s rich flavors.
Promoting Local Enterprises and Tourism
The Feria de Productos de Zamboanga aligns with the city’s broader efforts to uplift local enterprises by providing them with greater exposure and market access. It is also expected to attract tourists and locals alike, creating a festive atmosphere at Plaza Pershing while reinforcing the city’s reputation as a hub for quality homegrown products and innovative businesses.
With an exciting lineup of activities and an impressive showcase of Zamboanga’s best products, the fair is a must-visit event that celebrates local craftsmanship, culinary heritage, and entrepreneurial resilience. As the city marks its 88th Dia de la Ciudad de Zamboanga, the Feria de Productos stands as a testament to the thriving business landscape and the unwavering spirit of its people.
