Authorities in Davao City achieved a significant breakthrough in their fight against illegal drugs with a successful buy-bust operation conducted at Purok 8, Brgy. Ula, Tugbok District. The operation resulted in the arrest of an individual identified by the alias “Goy-Goy” and the confiscation of suspected shabu valued at PhP 214,880.00, along with the seizure of a homemade 5.56 revolver and ammunition.
The operation, led by personnel from the Ecoland Police Station (PS15) and the 1st City Mobile Force Company (CMFC) of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), also yielded several pieces of evidence. Among the recovered items were:
- Two rectangular-shaped, heat-sealed, transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu
- One glass bong with an attached glass pipe and plastic pipe
- One genuine and one printed copy of a 500-peso bill
- A homemade 5.56 revolver with five cartridges of 5.56 caliber ammunition
- One black sling bag
- Two lighters
- Two pieces of identification cards
The suspect is currently in the custody of the Ecoland Police Station for proper disposition and the filing of appropriate charges.
PBGEN Leon Victor Z. Rosete, the Regional Director of Police Regional Office (PRO) 11, lauded the unwavering dedication and commitment of the personnel involved in the operation. “This accomplishment is a testament to the relentless efforts of our police officers in eradicating illegal drugs and ensuring the safety and security of the community,” he stated.
The PRO 11 continues to intensify its campaign against the proliferation of illegal drugs in the region, emphasizing collaboration between law enforcement agencies and the public in achieving a drug-free society.
