CAMP ALAGAR, Cagayan de Oro City – The City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO), in collaboration with the City Intelligence Unit (CIU), successfully apprehended a third-time offender during a buy-bust operation on December 27, 2024, in Zone 3, Kauswagan, Cagayan de Oro City.

The operation led to the arrest of a 46-year-old female suspect, known by the alias “Dado,” a resident of the area. According to authorities, “Dado” has no formal employment and allegedly turned to illegal drug activities as her primary source of income.

During the operation, law enforcement recovered four sachets of heat-sealed transparent plastic containing white crystalline substances believed to be shabu, weighing approximately 14 grams. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is PhP95,200.00. Additionally, the team confiscated an Android cellphone, two disposable lighters, an eyeglass pouch, and pre-recorded buy-bust money amounting to PhP500.00.

The suspect is currently detained at the Maharlika Detention Center pending further legal proceedings. Charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against her.

Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10) Regional Director PBGEN Jaysen C. De Guzman commended the operatives for their successful operation. “This successful operation reaffirms PRO 10’s commitment to the eradication of illegal drug activities in the region. Let this serve as a warning to those involved in the illegal drug trade that our efforts are continuous and unwavering,” he said.

PBGEN De Guzman also emphasized the importance of community involvement in the campaign against illegal drugs. “Community involvement is vital in our fight against illegal drugs. We urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. Together, we can ensure a safer and drug-free Northern Mindanao,” he added.

The successful operation highlights the collaborative efforts of local law enforcement units and underscores their dedication to maintaining peace and order in the region. Authorities continue to encourage public support and cooperation to sustain the fight against illegal drugs.
