CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – A buy-bust operation conducted by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) led to the arrest of two drug suspects and the seizure of illegal drugs worth PHP 408,000 in NHA Kauswagan on November 21, 2024.
The suspects, identified by their aliases “Junjun,” 45, and “Jimboy,” are residents of Cagayan de Oro City and have prior records of violating Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Seized during the operation were six heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing 60 grams of a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, with a Standard Drug Price of PHP 408,000. Authorities also confiscated three mobile phones, drug paraphernalia, and a PHP 500 bill used as marked buy-bust money.
The suspects are now in CDEU custody for documentation and disposition. Cases for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of R.A. 9165 will be filed against “Junjun” and “Jimboy.” Meanwhile, “Baki Boyen” will face charges for violations of Section 12, Article II of R.A. 9165 and Frustrated Murder.
Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10) Regional Director PBGEN Jaysen C. De Guzman lauded the operatives for their successful operation and reiterated the police force’s resolve to eradicate illegal drugs in Northern Mindanao.
