Mayor Akmad Ampatuan Offers Php 500,000 Reward for Justice in Brutal Killing of Two Teenagers

Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao del Sur — Mayor Akmad Mitra Ampatuan has announced a reward of Php 500,000 for anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the heinous killing of two teenagers who were gunned down while inside their car.

In an interview, Mayor Ampatuan expressed his call for justice, emphasizing the senselessness of the crime. “We will not rest until the perpetrators are held accountable for this brutal act,” the mayor stated. He also described the crime as an “overkill,” given that the suspects riddled the victims’ vehicle with bullets.

The mayor has directed the Shariff Aguak Municipal Police Station chief to conduct a swift and thorough investigation into the incident. He issued a stern warning to the suspects, urging them to surrender before the law catches up with them.

Barangay Captain Amir Akmad Aguak of Labu-Labu Mother also called on authorities to prioritize resolving the case. “The innocent victims deserve justice. We appeal to law enforcement to exert all efforts in bringing the perpetrators to justice,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Regional Field Unit (CIDG RFU) in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) BARMM have strongly denied allegations circulating on social media that their personnel were involved in the ambush. Both agencies have called for a fair investigation to clear their names and support the pursuit of justice.

As of now, investigations are ongoing, and authorities urge anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
