Valencia City, Bukidnon – In an anti-drug operation conducted on November 13, 2024, the Valencia City Police arrested a High-Value Individual (HVI) suspected of drug-related activities. The suspect, identified by authorities as “John,” is a 43-year-old resident of Barangay Poblacion, where the operation took place.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Harvey A. Sanchez, Officer-in-Charge of the Valencia City Police Station, confirmed that the buy-bust operation led to the seizure of five sachets containing suspected shabu. The confiscated substances have an estimated street value of Php4,080. The operation also yielded a Php500 bill used as marked money.
The suspect is now facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.” This legislation aims to combat the production, sale, and use of illegal drugs across the Philippines.
Police Colonel Jovit L. Culaway, Provincial Director of the Bukidnon Police Provincial Office, commended the successful operation, stating, “Let us maximize our efforts to reduce, if not totally stop, illegal drugs or any kind of criminality in our areas of responsibility. Our collective goal remains to protect the public from any form of illegal menace.”
The arrest reflects ongoing efforts by the Valencia City Police and the Bukidnon Police Provincial Office to curb illegal drug activities and enhance public safety in the community. Authorities continue to urge citizens to cooperate with law enforcement by reporting any suspicious activities that could aid in the fight against illegal drugs.
