128 Children of Former MILF Members Receive Educational Aid

A total of 128 children of former Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) members have each received PHP 25,000 in financial aid to support their education. The aid distribution was led by the Task Force for Decommissioned Combatants and their Communities (TFDCC) in partnership with Mindanao State University (MSU), and the event took place at Cotabato State University.

The students, who are currently enrolled in various colleges and universities across Maguindanao, are the first beneficiaries of the program. Under the initiative, eligible students will receive a total of PHP 50,000 annually, with PHP 25,000 distributed each semester. This support will continue throughout their four years of college.

The TFDCC aims to provide financial assistance to 1,050 children of former MILF combatants this year. If sufficient funding is available, the program is expected to expand to benefit up to 2,500 students next year.

This financial aid is part of the government’s broader initiative to support former combatants and their families, helping them reintegrate into society through educational opportunities.
