Camp Gallego, Tubod, Lanao del Norte — In a determined effort to curb illegal drug activities in the province, a joint team of law enforcers successfully apprehended a suspected drug peddler during a buy-bust operation on April 7, 2025, at Purok 7, Barangay Poblacion, Linamon, Lanao del Norte.

The operation was carried out by personnel from Linamon Municipal Police Station (MPS), in coordination with the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 10 (1005th Company) and the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) under the Lanao del Norte Provincial Police Office (LDNPPO).

Authorities arrested a 42-year-old male resident of Purok 2B, Barangay Poblacion, Linamon. Confiscated from his possession were an estimated 8.9 grams of suspected shabu, with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) value of ₱60,520.

Seized items during the operation included:

  • Two small and two large heat-sealed plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu
  • Two improvised lighters (blue and orange)
  • One blue Realme cellphone
  • One black coin purse
  • One ₱500 bill used as marked money (Serial No. AV3622326)
  • Four ₱100 bills
  • One black RUSI motorcycle

The suspect is now under the custody of Linamon MPS for proper documentation and disposition. The seized substances have been turned over to the Provincial Forensic Unit for quantitative and qualitative examination.

Cases for violation of Sections 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared for filing.

PCOL Roy A. Magsalay, Provincial Director of LDNPPO, lauded the operating team for their successful operation.

“This operation highlights the resolve of law enforcement agencies to combat the illegal drug trade and uphold the rule of law. The seamless collaboration among different units demonstrates how unified efforts can effectively address the challenges posed by illegal drugs in our communities,” Magsalay stated.

Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to intensify anti-drug operations and urged the public to remain vigilant and supportive in the campaign against illegal drugs.
