LANAO DEL NORTE — Authorities arrested a 38-year-old man in a targeted anti-drug operation following the service of a search warrant in Purok 4, Barangay Poblacion, Linamon, police reported.

The suspect, identified only by the alias “suspek,” is a resident of the area and is believed to be involved in illegal drug activities.

The operation was carried out by a joint team composed of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of the Lanao del Norte Police Provincial Office, the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), the Linamon Municipal Police Station, and the 1005th Regional Mobile Force Battalion-10, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 10.

Authorities implemented the search warrant issued on April 15, 2026, which led to the recovery of approximately 30.5 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱207,400.

Also seized during the operation were two sachets of suspected shabu, a pouch, two lighters, aluminum foil, and a sling bag believed to be used in drug-related activities.

Police emphasized that the operation was conducted in the presence of barangay officials and media representatives, ensuring transparency and adherence to legal procedures.

The suspect is currently detained at the Linamon Municipal Police Station while charges for violations of Sections 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) and 12 (possession of drug paraphernalia) of Republic Act 9165 are being prepared.

Meanwhile, the confiscated evidence has been turned over to the Provincial Forensic Unit of Lanao del Norte for laboratory examination as part of the case build-up.

Authorities reiterated their commitment to intensifying anti-illegal drug operations in the province, urging the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement in reporting suspicious activities.
