An e-bike driver was shot dead along Vicente Chong Drive in Zamboanga City on Saturday night, August 15, with authorities continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the killing.
The victim was identified as Untal Sabtal Mariwa, reportedly a resident of Barangay Sta. Maria. Initial information indicated that Mariwa was driving an e-bike when he was shot at around 10 p.m. along the road near the boundary of Barangays Sta. Barbara and Sta. Catalina.
Residents in the area reportedly heard several gunshots during the incident. When they went outside to check, they allegedly found the victim lying on the road.
Mariwa was subsequently identified by authorities, although details regarding the circumstances immediately preceding the shooting remained unclear as of the initial reports.
