PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur — A 52-year-old man was reportedly shot by unidentified assailants and remained missing after he allegedly ran toward a wooded area following a shooting incident in Purok Waling-Waling, Barangay Kagawasan, Pagadian City, on the evening of October 1, 2026.

The incident was reported at around 8:30 p.m., after nearby residents said they heard three gunshots in the area.
The man was identified as Roger Agustin, a native of Malangas, Zamboanga Sibugay, who was reportedly residing in Purok Waling-Waling at the time of the incident.
Initial information indicated that Agustin was allegedly shot by unidentified men. Residents also reportedly heard or observed a chase shortly after the gunfire, although details surrounding the alleged pursuit have yet to be independently established.
According to information from the search effort, Agustin reportedly ran toward a wooded or forested area after the shooting. He has not been located despite continued efforts to find him.
Barangay officials led by Barangay Captain Joel Carpentero, together with other individuals assisting in the search, have been looking for Agustin in the surrounding area.
