IPIL, ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY — Police arrested an adult male and seized approximately 50 grams of suspected shabu, along with an unlicensed .38-caliber revolver and live ammunition, in an intensified anti-illegal drug operation conducted by authorities in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The operation was led by the Ipil Municipal Police Station (Ipil MPS) in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)–Zamboanga Sibugay and other concerned operating units as part of the Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office’s continuing campaign against illegal drugs.
Authorities reported the recovery of five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, with an estimated combined weight of 50 grams and an estimated standard drug price of ₱340,000.
Of the five sachets, one was reportedly recovered as the buy-bust item, while four others were recovered as possession evidence, according to the police account.
The operation also resulted in the confiscation of a .38-caliber revolver without a serial number and two live rounds of .38-caliber ammunition. Police likewise recovered drug paraphernalia and other non-drug items during the operation.
The seized suspected illegal drugs, firearm, ammunition, and other evidence are expected to undergo the appropriate inventory, documentation, and examination procedures in accordance with existing rules.
The arrested suspect was brought to the Ipil Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and disposition. Authorities said the case will proceed in accordance with established procedures.
The seizure of the firearm and ammunition added a significant security dimension to the operation, as authorities continue to address the potential use of unauthorized firearms in connection with illegal drug activities and other crimes.
Police Provincial Director PCOL Barnard Danie V. Dasugo underscored the provincial police office’s firm resolve to disrupt the illegal drug trade while addressing the presence of unauthorized firearms that could further endanger communities.
The operation forms part of the province-wide effort of law enforcement agencies to prevent the distribution of illegal drugs, remove firearms from unauthorized possession, and strengthen police and anti-drug enforcement operations in communities across Zamboanga Sibugay.
The suspect remains subject to the legal process, and the allegations against him will be determined through the appropriate judicial proceedings.
