VALENCIA CITY, Bukidnon – A suspected high-value drug personality was arrested while more than half a million pesos worth of suspected shabu was confiscated during a joint anti-illegal drug operation conducted shortly after midnight on Monday, July 27, 2026, in Barangay Colonia, Valencia City.

The successful buy-bust operation was carried out at approximately 12:19 a.m. by operatives from the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of the Bukidnon Police Provincial Office (Buk PPO), in collaboration with the Valencia City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit, 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, Provincial Intelligence Unit of Buk PPO, and the City Anti-Drugs Special Unit Team, with coordination from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-10.
Authorities arrested the suspect, identified only by the alias “Zoe,” a 27-year-old single resident of Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, who is listed by law enforcement as a High Value Individual (HVI) in the government’s campaign against illegal drugs.
During the operation, police recovered nine heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, with a total weight of 80.5 grams and an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱547,400.
Also seized from the suspect were an Android cellphone, a security guard identification card, a black Suzuki Smash 110 motorcycle, and ₱1,000 in marked buy-bust money used during the operation.
According to police records, the suspect is a first-time offender who previously worked as a security guard. Investigators alleged that after leaving his former job, he became involved in the illegal drug trade, reportedly making the sale and distribution of illegal drugs his primary source of income.
Authorities further disclosed that the suspect had allegedly been operating not only in Malaybalay City and Valencia City, but also in several nearby municipalities in Bukidnon, making him a target of sustained intelligence monitoring before the operation was launched.
The arrested suspect is currently under the custody of the Valencia City Police Station for proper documentation and legal processing.
Police are preparing charges for violations of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, the confiscated suspected shabu has been turned over to the Bukidnon Provincial Forensic Unit for qualitative and quantitative laboratory examination as part of the evidence-building process.
The arrest forms part of the continuing intensified anti-illegal drug campaign of law enforcement authorities in Northern Mindanao, aimed at dismantling drug networks and preventing the proliferation of illegal narcotics across the province.
