GENERAL SANTOS CITY — Police arrested four individuals in three separate operations in General Santos City on October 22 and 23, 2026, seizing suspected shabu and marijuana, two firearms, and other pieces of evidence in intensified efforts against illegal drugs and related offenses.

The operations were conducted by units of the General Santos City Police Office (GSCPO) under Police Regional Office 12 (PRO 12), covering a series of anti-drug operations and a separate response to a reported fistfight that led to the recovery of suspected illegal drugs.
The largest operation took place at around 3:20 p.m. on October 23 in Purok 9B, Block 7, Barangay Fatima, where the City Police Drug Enforcement Unit (CPDEU), in coordination with the City Intelligence Unit and Police Station 7, arrested two men in a buy-bust operation.
The suspects were identified as alias “Kaile,” 37, a businessman residing in Barangay San Isidro, and alias “Tubon,” 37, a mechanic from Barangay Fatima, both in General Santos City.
During the operation, a police poseur-buyer purchased a heat-sealed plastic sachet containing approximately 0.2 gram of suspected shabu using a ₱1,000 bill as marked buy-bust money.
Subsequent searches reportedly yielded three large sachets containing approximately 15.10 grams of suspected shabu from Kaile, with a stated National Standard Drug Price (NSDP) of ₱102,680. Authorities recovered another six sachets containing approximately 11 grams of suspected shabu from Tubon, with a stated value of ₱74,900.
Police also seized two firearms: a caliber .45 pistol with three rounds of live ammunition and a caliber .22 Magnum revolver loaded with two rounds. Bags, mobile phones, cash, identification cards, and lighters were among the other items recovered.
The combined reported weight of the suspected shabu seized from the two men was approximately 26.10 grams, excluding the 0.2-gram buy-bust sample.
The suspects were brought to the CPDEU-GSCPO office for proper disposition and medical examination before being transferred to the custodial facility of Police Station 7. The suspected drugs were submitted to the General Santos City Forensic Unit 12 for laboratory examination, while the firearms and ammunition were forwarded for ballistic examination.
An inventory and documentation of the recovered evidence were conducted in the presence of a barangay official and a media representative. Complaints for alleged violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, were being prepared for filing through inquest proceedings.
Marijuana operation nets 598 grams
A day earlier, at around 9:16 p.m. on October 22, Police Station 1 personnel arrested a 20-year-old man during a buy-bust operation in front of Bertz Vendo Machine Carwash along Velasquez Street, Purok 10, Barangay Dadiangas North.
The suspect, identified as alias “Den,” was described as single, unemployed, and a resident of Purok 2, Barangay Mabuhay, General Santos City.
Police recovered one small vacuum-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected marijuana, identified as the buy-bust item, along with one large vacuum-sealed package and two medium-sized zip-locked packages containing the suspected drug.
The seized marijuana reportedly weighed approximately 598 grams, with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱71,832. A ₱500 bill used as buy-bust money and other personal belongings were also recovered.
Den was arrested for alleged violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, covering the alleged sale and possession of dangerous drugs. Police said a progress report would follow.
Shabu recovered after disturbance response
In a separate incident on October 22, police arrested a 26-year-old man after responding to a reported fistfight in Block 2, Santiago Subdivision, Barangay Bula, at around 5:50 p.m.
Motorcycle patrol personnel of Police Station 6 responded to the disturbance and attempted to pacify the individuals involved. However, the suspect, identified as alias “Ods,” a resident of Barangay Dadiangas South, allegedly became aggressive and repeatedly refused to comply with the officers’ lawful instructions, prompting his arrest.
A subsequent search reportedly yielded one rectangular, heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu from the right pocket of his shorts. The substance weighed approximately 0.3459 gram, with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of ₱2,352.12.
The seized item was marked and inventoried at the scene in the presence of the suspect, a barangay official, and a media representative. It was scheduled for submission to the General Santos City Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.
Ods faces a possible complaint for alleged violation of Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code, concerning resistance and disobedience to a person in authority or their agents, and Section 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, concerning possession of dangerous drugs. The complaints were being prepared for filing through inquest proceedings.
PRO 12 reiterates anti-drug campaign
PRO 12 Regional Director Police Brigadier General Alan B. Manibog emphasized the importance of sustained law enforcement operations against illegal drugs and the prompt response of police personnel to incidents affecting public safety.
The three incidents highlight the range of police interventions in General Santos City, from targeted buy-bust operations against alleged drug sellers to patrol responses that result in the recovery of suspected illegal substances.
The seized drugs remain subject to laboratory examination, while the firearms recovered in the Barangay Fatima operation are subject to ballistic testing. The allegations against the arrested individuals remain subject to the appropriate legal proceedings, and their guilt must be established in court.
