ILIGAN CITY – A 26-year-old woman listed among Iligan City’s Top 6 Most Wanted Persons (City Level) for Qualified Trafficking in Persons was formally arrested after authorities served a warrant of arrest against her inside the Iligan City Jail on Friday evening, July 24.
The accused, identified only by the alias “Jen” in compliance with privacy protocols, is a 26-year-old single, unemployed resident of Barangay Tambacan, Iligan City.
The warrant was served at around 6:50 p.m. at the Iligan City Jail in Purok 5, Barangay Tipanoy, where the accused was already under detention for another case.
The operation was jointly carried out by the Task Force OSAEC CIDMU, personnel of Police Station 4 of the Iligan City Police Office (ICPO), the Iligan City Mobile Force Company (ICMFC), the Lanao del Norte Criminal Investigation Team/Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 10 (LDN CRT/RACU 10), and Police Station 6 under the overall supervision of PLTCOL Marion M. Baquiran Jr., City Director of the Iligan City Police Office.
Authorities implemented the warrant issued under Criminal Case No. 26-33180 for the offense of Qualified Trafficking in Persons in relation to the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act, with the case also linked to SIMACHO. The warrant was issued and signed by Hon. Arassad Macarampat Macumbal, Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 2, 10th Judicial Region, Iligan City, on July 23, 2026.
The court recommended no bail, underscoring the gravity of the charges filed against the accused.
Police officials said the successful implementation of the warrant highlights the sustained efforts of the Philippine National Police and its partner law enforcement agencies in pursuing individuals involved in human trafficking and crimes that exploit vulnerable sectors of society, particularly children.
The operation also demonstrated close coordination among specialized police units tasked with combating Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and other forms of trafficking, reinforcing the government’s intensified campaign against organized exploitation networks.
Authorities emphasized that human trafficking remains one of the country’s most serious crimes, with victims often subjected to exploitation, abuse, and violations of their fundamental rights.
The Philippine National Police reiterated its commitment to ensuring that offenders are brought before the courts and held accountable under the law, stressing that the protection of children and other vulnerable individuals remains a top priority.
Officials likewise commended the dedication, professionalism, and teamwork of the participating units, whose coordinated efforts led to the successful implementation of the warrant.
