CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines (July 3, 2026) — Most parts of Mindanao will continue to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms over the next 24 hours as the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), Easterlies, and localized thunderstorms affect different areas across the island, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

In its Regional Weather Forecast issued at 5:00 a.m. Friday, PAGASA said the forecast will remain valid until 5:00 a.m. Saturday, July 4.
The weather bureau said the Southwest Monsoon will continue to affect the Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, and Tawi-Tawi, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms throughout the day.
Meanwhile, the Caraga Region is expected to experience similar weather conditions due to the prevailing Easterlies, while the rest of Mindanao will likely have isolated rain showers and thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorm activity.
Although widespread heavy rainfall is not expected, PAGASA warned residents that severe thunderstorms could trigger flash floods and landslides, particularly in low-lying, flood-prone, and mountainous areas.
Light to Moderate Winds, Calm Seas
Across Mindanao, winds will generally be light to moderate, blowing from the south to southeast, while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate, with wave heights ranging from 0.6 to 1.2 meters, making sea travel generally safe. However, PAGASA advised small fishing vessels and other sea craft to remain cautious whenever thunderstorms develop over coastal waters.

Public Advisory
PAGASA advised residents across Mindanao to remain alert for rapidly changing weather conditions, especially during the afternoon and evening when thunderstorms are more likely to develop.
Communities in flood-prone and landslide-susceptible areas are urged to monitor official weather bulletins and heed warnings issued by local disaster risk reduction and management offices.
Motorists are likewise encouraged to exercise caution during periods of heavy rainfall due to reduced visibility and slippery road conditions, while fishermen and operators of small boats should avoid venturing into the sea whenever thunderstorms are present despite generally calm marine conditions.
PAGASA continues to monitor weather systems affecting the country and will issue updates as necessary.
