DAVAO CITY – Authorities arrested five suspected drug peddlers and seized an estimated ₱172,040 worth of suspected shabu during a high-impact anti-illegal drug operation conducted in Davao City early Thursday morning, June 25.

The successful buy-bust operation was carried out at around 3:37 a.m. in Purok 2-A, Barangay 23-C, Davao City, by personnel of Police Station 1 – Sta. Ana under the leadership of Police Major Richeen M. Lagnayo, Station Commander.
The operation forms part of the intensified anti-illegal drug campaign of the Philippine National Police (PNP) aimed at dismantling local drug networks, apprehending individuals engaged in the illegal drug trade, and preventing the spread of dangerous drugs within communities.
Authorities said the operation resulted in the arrest of five suspected drug peddlers and the confiscation of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of ₱172,040. The seized illegal drugs will be subjected to laboratory examination as part of the legal process, while the arrested suspects are expected to face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act No. 9165).
The Davao City Police Office (DCPO), headed by Police Colonel Peter Bauzon Madria, commended the dedication, professionalism, and relentless efforts of the operating personnel of Police Station 1 for the successful conduct of the operation.
According to the DCPO, the latest accomplishment underscores the city’s sustained campaign against illegal drugs, which remains one of its top priorities in ensuring public safety and maintaining peace and order. The police emphasized that continuous anti-drug operations are essential in disrupting the activities of local drug syndicates and protecting communities, particularly the youth, from the harmful effects of illegal narcotics.
“The Davao City Police remain steadfast in its mission to serve and protect. Together, we can ensure a safer future for our families and our community,” the DCPO said in a statement.
Police authorities also encouraged the public to continue supporting law enforcement efforts by reporting illegal drug activities and cooperating with authorities to help build safer and drug-free communities throughout Davao City.
