TAGOLOAN, Misamis Oriental — Authorities confiscated nearly P800,000 worth of suspected shabu during a drug den bust operation conducted in the municipality of Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, in the early hours of the morning.

Operatives from the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) Special Operations Unit 10, in coordination with other law enforcement agencies, carried out the operation at around 2:00 a.m. in Barangay Sta. Cruz after serving a search warrant on a property suspected of being used as a drug den.

During the operation, authorities recovered more than 117 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P795,600, dealing a significant blow to the illegal drug trade in the area.

In addition to the illegal drugs, law enforcers also seized several personal belongings and other items believed to be associated with the use, storage, and distribution of illegal substances. These pieces of evidence are expected to strengthen the cases that may be filed against individuals involved in the operation.

The PNP Drug Enforcement Group said the successful raid forms part of its intensified campaign against drug dens and other illegal activities linked to the proliferation of dangerous drugs in communities.

Authorities emphasized that drug dens remain a major concern as they serve as hubs for the consumption and distribution of illegal drugs, contributing to criminality and posing threats to public safety.

The confiscated substances have been turned over to the appropriate forensic laboratories for examination and confirmation, while investigators continue to identify and monitor other individuals who may be connected to the illegal operation.

The PNP-DEG also reiterated its appeal to the public to actively support the government’s anti-drug campaign by reporting suspected drug activities and individuals involved in the illegal drug trade.

Officials stressed that community cooperation remains vital in dismantling drug networks and maintaining peace and order across Misamis Oriental and neighboring areas.

The operation underscores the continuing efforts of law enforcement agencies to curb the spread of illegal drugs and hold accountable those engaged in narcotics-related activities in Northern Mindanao.
