TAGOLOAN, Misamis Oriental — Authorities arrested four suspected drug personalities and seized more than ₱1 million worth of suspected shabu during a joint buy-bust operation conducted in Zone 13, Barangay Sta. Cruz, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental before midnight on May 28, 2026.

The arrested suspects were identified only through their aliases as “Simod,” 33, a resident of Sta. Cruz, Tagoloan; Steven, 33, also from Sta. Cruz, Tagoloan; Clifford, 34, a resident of Impasug-ong, Bukidnon; and Ryan, 35, a resident of Casinglot, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.

The operation was led by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) Team 2 of Police Regional Office-10 in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Special Enforcement Team-10 (PDEA RSET-10), Tagoloan Municipal Police Station, Philippine Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit-10 (PDEG SOU-10), RA COCPO RID-10, and Regional Intelligence Unit-10 (RIU-10).

According to authorities, the suspects were caught in the act during an illegal drug transaction with an undercover operative acting as a poseur-buyer, prompting law enforcement officers to immediately carry out the arrest.

Recovered from the suspects were eight sachets containing suspected shabu weighing more than 150 grams with an estimated standard drug price of ₱1,020,000.

Authorities also confiscated marked money used in the operation, a cellphone, a lighter, and several plastic cellophane packs believed to have been used in the packaging and distribution of illegal drugs.

Following the operation, the arrested individuals were brought to the Maharlika Custodial Facility while the confiscated illegal substances were submitted to the Regional Forensic Unit-10 (RFU-10) for qualitative and quantitative examination.

Authorities are now preparing charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, against the suspects.

Law enforcement agencies in Northern Mindanao continue to intensify anti-illegal drug operations as part of the government’s campaign to curb the proliferation of dangerous drugs in the region.
