A trough of a Low Pressure Area (LPA) continues to affect Mindanao, bringing cloudy skies, scattered rainshowers, and thunderstorms across the island from Monday morning until Tuesday morning, according to the regional weather forecast issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) Mindanao Regional Services Division (MINPRSD).

PAGASA warned that moderate to at times heavy rains may trigger flash floods and landslides, particularly in low-lying and mountainous areas vulnerable to soil erosion and flooding.
The weather bureau said most parts of Mindanao will experience cloudy conditions accompanied by intermittent rains and thunderstorms as the LPA trough persists over the region. Winds are expected to remain light to moderate, generally coming from the northeast to northwest, while coastal waters will be slight to moderate with wave heights ranging from 0.6 to 1.5 meters.
In the Zamboanga Peninsula, including Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela City, residents are expected to experience cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms throughout the forecast period. Temperatures in the region are projected to range from 22°C to 34°C.
Northern Mindanao provinces such as Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental will also continue to experience cloudy weather with scattered rains and thunderstorms. Forecast temperatures may range between 20°C and 33°C.
In the Davao Region, including Davao City, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao Occidental, light to moderate winds are expected to prevail while intermittent rainshowers and thunderstorms continue to affect the area. Temperatures across the region may range from 23°C to 33°C.
The same weather system is affecting the SOCCSKSARGEN Region, including North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani, where cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms are expected through Monday. Temperatures may range from 23°C to 33°C.
In the Caraga Region, provinces including Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands may initially experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers, but conditions are expected to worsen into widespread cloudy skies with thunderstorms by Monday.
Meanwhile, areas under the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), including Cotabato City, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Maguindanao del Norte, and Maguindanao del Sur, are likewise expected to experience cloudy weather with rainshowers and thunderstorms accompanied by light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal conditions.
PAGASA advised residents, especially those living near rivers, coastal communities, and landslide-prone areas, to remain vigilant and monitor local weather advisories as the LPA trough may continue to enhance rainfall activity across Mindanao.
Motorists and sea travelers were also urged to exercise caution due to reduced visibility and slippery road conditions during thunderstorms and heavy downpours.
