Authorities arrested a high-value drug suspect and seized illegal drugs locally known as “shabu” during a coordinated anti-illegal drug operation in Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.

The operation was carried out by the Cabadbaran City Police Station as the lead unit in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency through the implementation of a search warrant at the Jisefina Ventura Compound in Purok 8, Barangay Mabini, Cabadbaran City.
According to Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office Director PCOL April Mark C. Young, operatives from the Drug Enforcement Unit of Cabadbaran City Police Station arrested a suspect identified only by the alias “Adam,” a married male of legal age and a resident of the area.
Police said the suspect was categorized as a High-Value Individual (HVI) in the government’s anti-drug campaign. Authorities recovered suspected shabu during the operation, further strengthening the case against the arrested individual.
The suspect was immediately informed of his constitutional rights in a language and dialect known to him before being taken into the custody of the Cabadbaran City Police Station. He is now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
To ensure transparency and proper procedure during the operation, representatives from the Department of Justice, media, and barangay officials were present as witnesses during the implementation of the search warrant and inventory of seized evidence.
Police officials stressed that the successful operation reflects the continuing crackdown against illegal drugs in Agusan del Norte amid intensified efforts to dismantle local drug networks and protect communities from the harmful effects of narcotics.
“AgNorte police will not allow drug personalities to destroy families and weaken the moral fabric of our society. Those who continue to peddle or use illegal drugs will face the full force of the law. We are committed to intensifying operations and strengthening community partnerships to ensure a safer and drug-free Agusan del Norte,” Young said.
Authorities reiterated their call for public cooperation, urging residents to report illegal drug activities in their communities as law enforcement agencies continue their aggressive anti-drug operations across the province.
