Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte – Law enforcement authorities successfully seized illegal drugs, locally known as “Shabu,” in an anti-drug operation conducted in Purok 5, Barangay Mabini, Cabadbaran City on January 29, 2025.

The operation, executed through a buy-bust strategy, was led by the Agusan del Norte Provincial Intelligence Unit (ADN PIU) in collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), personnel from Cabadbaran City Police Station (CPS), and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 13 (PDEA-RO 13).

Authorities arrested a suspect identified as alias “Wilfred,” a 38-year-old male, married, and a fruit vendor. He is categorized as a High-Value Individual (HVI) and a resident of Purok 5, Barangay 9, Cabadbaran City.

PCOL April Mark C. Young, Provincial Director of the Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office (ADNPPO), disclosed that the suspect was apprised of his constitutional rights in a language familiar to him. He is currently under the custody of the Cabadbaran City Police Station and faces charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022.

Representatives from the Department of Justice, local media, and barangay officials witnessed the operation to ensure transparency and adherence to due process.

“We reiterate our clear objective against illegal drugs: We will crush all illegal drug activities across Agusan del Norte through a relentless, well-directed, and comprehensive strategy,” PCOL Young stated.

Authorities assure the public of their continued efforts to combat the proliferation of illegal drugs in the province, urging communities to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement in the fight against drug-related crimes.
